Artist Statement

I like the duality of painting and monoprint and exploring their complementary nature.

In painting, I often mix mediums when I’m not supposed to: pigments, acrylic, ink, eggs, plaster, oil... In monoprint, I use both sides of the paper. I print on top of other prints, and with external forms such as wire, lace or leaves etc… The possibilities are infinite.

Playing with these techniques together stimulates my research and allows me to free myself. I hang on vertiginously to the possibilities borne by every color, their confrontation and overlapping, and to what they suggest. I discover my way by doing and experimenting, carried out by this childish feeling of exploring the edge of a new world. And in this journey into an unknown world, I am driven more by the path I take rather than the destination.

I invite you to a dialogue with the present through your viewing of my work, my brushstrokes and the way I scratch the canvas. Then, I get out of my isolation, of my obsession of questioning myself and come to meet with you.
