Artist Statement

I am a story-teller, the one with the one-hundred and twenty-eight imaginary friends and the keys to the secret closet where the soap-monsters live. I was supposed to go to art school but my mother thought a MBA would be more practical.  Perhaps she was right.

A few years ago, I attended a class on color theory. My whole being caught on fire. After that, I bought the biggest box of colored pencils I could afford and started drawing every day.

I never know what will come to the page. If I like it, I pin it to the wall. If not, the drawing goes into a great big pile on the top shelf of my studio. I don't ever look at the pile.

I wake up at 5:00 a.m. every day to draw before I go to work.   I love being at my drawing table when it is still dark outside. I feel so lucky to have my own space. What a life!
